To ensure safety and confidentiality, we utilize Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, the industry standard for transferring sensitive information over the Internet. When you enter your credit card information online, it is encrypted so others cannot access it. Whenever we ask you to send confidential information over the Internet, including personal account data, we require that a "secure session" using SSL first be established.

It works as follows: SSL technology secretly encodes information as it is being sent over the Internet between your computer and Rare Tiffany Style Lamps helping to ensure that the information remains confidential. The use of SSL requires two components: 
a)  a SSL-compatible browser 
b)  and a secure web server to perform the data exchange that
     establishes an SSL connection. 

Today most online ordering is secure, provided that your browser
 can support secure transactions. You can tell that you are in a
secure environment when the key at the bottom of the page is complete or lock is closed. When the key is complete (or lock closed), all information exchanged is encrypted and cannot be accessed by anyone else. (Note that some older versions of browsers will not support SSL sessions).

Rare Tiffany Style Lamps process all orders through Yahoo! ordering systems. We chose Yahoo! because they provide the highest level of security for payment on the web.   Yahoo! automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to the secure server using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Additionally, the Digital ID ensures data integrity, as it is used as a key to encrypt the information before transfer. Look for the "https://" in the URL of order form pages. "http" following by a "s" is the confirmation that you are using a secure web site. 

E-mail is considered in a non-secure environment. If you want to order any Tiffany Style Lamps from us, please DON’T include any credit card information on the email. You can either fax the order form to us at  1-510-505-9157  or order it at our secure website Rare Tiffany Style Lamps.

Tips for Online Credit Card Safety

• Use only one credit card online to make it easier to identify fraudulent charges.

• Be sure to print a copy of your purchase order and confirmation number for your records.

• Check your bills carefully each month and cancel the card immediately if you find any bogus charges.

• Assume that any credit card you use online can be stolen. It might not, but that way you’ll have account numbers handy to simplify and hasten the process of canceling the card.

• Send e-mail to a retail site asking whether users' credit card information is stored by the company. You can ask the company to remove your data from its database. Or, if you like the convenience offered by web sites that keep your card numbers on file, ask if the site encrypts your personal information before it's stored. If the answer is "no", you should shop elsewhere.
