4.
How stable is Tiffany style lamps since the lampshades are made of
stained glass?
A:
The glass cutting patterns of the lampshades were made from a drawing,
thus allowing many glass parts to be cut. It was out of these pieces then
that the lampshade was made. The connecting of these single glass pieces
was made possible by framing the edges of every piece with a thin copper
foil, which was then soldered to the adjacent copper foiled pieces. This
technique, combined with the linking approach made shades extremely
stable.
5.
What do I need to know about the bulbs of Tiffany style lamps?
A:
For Tiffany style lamps with larger size lamp shades 20" or above, three
(3) 60 watt sockets are generally recommended. For those with 16"
diameter lamp shades up to 20" diameter lampshades, two (2) sockets are
generally recommended. For Tiffany style lamps with smaller size
lampshades, one (1) socket with regular bulb is generally used.
